David L. Harper, 40 of Mooresville, son of Ruth Harper of E. Market Street, Crawfordsville was fatally stricken Saturday with a cerebral hemorrage while attending the Motor Speedway. An employee of Ford Motor Company at Indianapolis, Mr. Harper had lived at Indianapolis until last January when he and his family moved to Mooresville. Born in Culver Hospital on May 23, 1936 he was the son of Chester & Ruth Burks Harper. He graduated from CHS in 1956. He was married to Carol Sue Stark of Ladoga on September 18, 1955. She survives. Also surviving are his mother, two sons, Rouke and Ruston at home; brother Ted of Indianaplis; an aunt; four uncles. He was preceded in death by his father in 1971 and and infant brother. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Harry W. Moore Arlington Chapel, Indianapolis. - kbz

The funeral for David L. Harper, 40, of Indianapolis who died Saturday will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Harry W. Moore Arlington Chapel, 5811 E. 38th St., Indianapolis. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Wednesday. He was the son of Ruth Harper of Crawfordsville. – jlr
